Today's poem

The bonfire was like a huge pep assembly...oh the horrors returned so quickly. before i thought i didn't like the pep assemblies because after all, it was only high school, and there was no reason to be so riled up over it. but now i know that i'm just not into having that kind of school spirit. key words THAT KIND. i mean, i walk into Doe library, i go into the main stacks, and i look around...wander for a while..and i'm so proud of it all. i get so excited that i'm going here. or i'd be walking about on campus next to the creek and it's all so beautiful, and again i think how glad i am to be here. i won't even mention the city scape i see out the window every night. so anyway, the only good thing about the bonfire was the fire, and some guy reading a poem. oh the images of mr. halpin, and the activities commissioners came running into my head. and the chanting ...dear god..the chanting and singing ...that was just scary. they get hopping excited over football, but when it comes to serious things that one should get excited over, they sit there like a bump on a log. they screamed that stanford buys their football team. so do we! so what if they're snobs. we're snobs too..just to a lesser extent. anyway, it's stanford, what do you expect? i couldn't bring myself to say the words. couldn't bring myself to chant. just impossible. it was great though. good mob stuff. i wish liz and erica and jen were here, so we could all just sit around and make fun of the jocks and cheerleaders.

granted i just ranted on and on about something i don't really care about, but still, i haven't blogged in a while. so there.
